The early history of the settlement is lost in the legends. However, its special statute in the 15th to the 17th century secured prosperity and growth.
During this full day excursion you will be able to enter and walk around through the cobblestone streets and see the magnificent churches, palaces, stone bridges and remarkable houses. In comparison with the other mountain towns in Bulgaria, the houses in Koprivshtitsa are distinguished for their large open spaces, rich inner and outer decorations. Most splendid are the houses built in the middle of the19th century (1842 - 1870) and especially after the Crimean War till the Liberation. You will admire these large houses - Oslekov House, Lyutov House, Kableshkov House, with their numerous bright windows and splendid decorations of murals, French fashion ornaments and wood carvings showing the prosperity of their owners.
Discover the unique charm and the colourful history of the vivacious village of Koprivshtitsa. With cobblestone streets and century-old town houses in their peaceful and romantic surroundings, it harbours a variety of impressions just waiting to be experienced! Koprivshtitsa has been protected in its entirety as a historical monument since 1952.
